Last updated: May 2026. How to keep your jewellery brilliant for a lifetime.
Lab-grown diamond jewellery is made to last — and a little everyday care keeps it as radiant as the day you received it.
Everyday wear
Put your jewellery on last, after applying makeup, perfume and hairspray, and take it off first when you get home.
Remove your pieces before swimming, showering, exercising, gardening or cleaning — chlorine, sweat and household chemicals dull metal and loosen settings over time.
Cleaning at home
Soak your jewellery in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for a few minutes, then gently clean it with a soft toothbrush, paying attention to the area behind the diamond where oils collect.
Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and paper towels, which can scratch precious metal.
Storing your jewellery
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or a lined jewellery box. Diamonds are hard and can scratch other pieces — and each other — when kept loose together.
Keep jewellery away from direct heat and humidity.
What to avoid
Avoid contact with perfume, lotion, hairspray, chlorine and harsh household chemicals.
Take jewellery off before any activity that could knock or scratch it. While diamonds are extremely hard, a sharp blow can still chip a stone or bend a setting.
Professional servicing
Have your jewellery inspected once a year so a jeweller can check that prongs, clasps and settings remain secure.
